Tehran Summer Collection (Tashtak) by Sara Zarmi

I walk through the summer streets of Tehran, my beloved city that smells of life. Container with water and ice full of ZamZam and Abali. The mesmerizing sound of the soda bottle opening and the bottle cap being flung into the air and falling to the ground, and I am fascinated by the reflection of the bottle cap and a thought that never leaves my mind … Why always diamonds and gold!

With the voice of a salesman saying “tagarie tagarie” (an Iranian term for cool and fresh), it sparked in my head.

I like it when the closures are shiny and last forever. The drink runs out and the caps continue to glow and they are decorated and painted.

Now they have become a collection, a brilliant family from the hot summer streets of Tehran
